Santa’s appearance at the 97th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade on Thursday has officially kicked off the holiday season, and with it time-honored Yuletide traditions.
Most of us will no doubt take a trip at some point to our favorite mall, perhaps as a change of pace from purchasing Christmas gifts online. And if you live within a fairly large city, you’ll more than likely come across those recognizable Salvation Army volunteers, dressed in their classical midnight blue uniforms, ringing their bells as part of the annual Red Kettle Campaign.
For the record, the Christian charity didn’t begin in America, but in London in 1865. It eventually migrated across the pond to America where it has become an intricate part of our Yuletide season.
However, within recent years, the charity has gone through some profound changes, most recently embracing a new WOKE directive titled, Let’s Talk About … Racism.
The new and improved Salvation Army is no longer an apolitical Christian charity tasked with simply helping the poor and disadvantaged. They have now morphed into a race baiting political organization, demeaning individuals based on their skin pigmentation. It’s quite a transition, to say the least.
The new directive, which was compiled and approved earlier this year by the International Social Justice Commission of the Salvation Army, aligns itself with the ideology of the Black Lives Matter, along with the critical race theory movement, suggesting that all white people are fundamentally racist.
The directive defines structural racism as “the overarching system of racial biasing across institutions and society,” the guide declares: “These systems give privileges to white people resulting in disadvantages to People of Color.”
Salvation Army volunteers have been instructed to casually engage would be donors about systemic racism, subtly implying that white people are privileged, and should apologize for being white.
It is extremely unfortunate to see the @SalvationArmyUS get sucked into the disaster of Critical Race Theory & woke politics. Those cancers know no bounds. “This holiday season the Salvation Army wants a donation — and a 'sincere apology' for white racism” https://t.co/kxJ43iZvYl

Perhaps this would be a good time to mention that the Salvation Army received approximately $10 million dollars between 2014-2021 from federal agencies in support of adults on probation, parole, and supervised release in the District of Columbia. The federal agency’s mission is to “support the fair administration of justice in close collaboration with the community.”
Last year, at the height of the pandemic the Salvation Army received an additional $100,000 in emergency funding from the federal government, making for a cozy relationship.
The guide outlines various types of discussions chapter leaders can have about racism and how to operate in an actively anti-racist fashion. “Being anti-racist results from a conscious decision to make frequent, consistent, equitable choices daily,” according to the nearly 50-page document. “These choices require ongoing self-awareness and self-reflection as we move through life. In the absence of making anti-racist choices, we (un) consciously uphold aspects of White supremacy, White-dominant culture, and unequal institutions and society. Being racist or anti-racist is not about who you are; it is about what you do.”
However, the most disheartening aspect to this once honorable Christian charity is the obvious and blatant reverse racism that now permeates throughout the organization. This once iconic Yuletide charity has been hijacked by the WOKE mob, and may never again be a charity for all humankind.
