It was simply a matter of time, before a far left city decided to go to the extreme and allow non-citizens to vote within their local elections. It could have been anyone of the three major WOKE cities; San Francisco, Los Angeles or New York City.
According to Breitbart News, New York City may soon have the infamous distinction of allowing non-citizens the right to vote, in essence diluting hundreds of thousands of American citizen votes while ensuring that foreign nationals decide local elections.
The plan, hatched by progressive Democrats, would allow non-citizens the right to vote in the big apple for local elective office, including mayors and perhaps even governors.
Thus far, a total of 34 Democrats on the council’s 51-members are planning to back the measure when it comes up for a vote on December 9th. This will allow 800,000 non-citizens holding green cards, visas, and work permits the opportunity to vote in city elections, provided they’ve lived in the city for at least 30 consecutive days.
According to an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, if the measure should actually pass, non-citizens would possess a potential voting block to actually decide razor-thin local elections. With a city of over 3.1 million non-citizens, it can easily change the balance of power, negating votes cast by American citizens.
“Mayor-elect Eric Adams won the ranked-choice Democratic primary in June by 7,197 votes, so 800,000 non citizens could be decisive,” the Journal’s editorial board wrote.
The fallout of having non-citizens voting in local election would no doubt guarantee in the “short-term” Democratic dominance over Republican candidates for decades to come. However, it may also be a double edged sword, in that once the voting privilege for American citizens has been purposely infringed upon by elected officials, can rebellion be far behind?
One lifelong New York City Democrat who’s not on board with this flagrant scheme, is Bronx Councilman Rev. Ruben Diaz, who warns that this radical agenda by his Democratic colleagues giving voting rights to non-citizens is dangerous.

In a letter authored by the Bronx legislator on Monday, Diaz took aim at the 34 Democrats planning to vote YES, outlining to his constituents that the radical plan would most likely be challenged in the courts for violating New York state law. It could be utilized by foreign nationals associated with the United Nations and Wall Street to enormously influence the city’s elections while diluting the votes of American citizens.
Diaz continues, calling the plan a “radical agenda that will give 800,000 non citizen voters with no comparable understanding of the history of this country and government … with nothing more than 30 days of residency here.”
Adding; “Ladies and gentlemen, I fully support our immigrant community, but I also respect our laws and cherish my privilege as an American citizen to vote. I encourage all New Yorkers to pay close attention to what is going on here. I don’t believe that this proposal will hold up in court if it is passed by the City Council, so stay tuned.”
Outgoing New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio agrees with Diaz, that this scheme will most assuredly be challenged in court for violating New York state law.
