Democratic Presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips sent Democrats into a complete and total meltdown after admitting that he’s open to the idea of joining GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley as her running mate as part of a “unity ticket.” The good news, of course, is that Haley has about as much of a chance of winning the primary race as I do of marrying Charlize Theron. Which is to say none at all.
To put it simply, the last thing this nation needs is for the Republican Party to fall under establishment control. We fought so hard and for so long to turn the tide and allow actual, principled conservatives to have a shot at getting things done that would preserve our liberty and freedom. Haley would be a huge step backward and we cannot afford that if we want America to survive for future generations. It just cannot be allowed to happen.
Phillips went on to state his interest in being on a ticket with Haley during an interview with WCCO host Chad Hartman in Minnesota on Thursday. Honestly, this was probably something he should have kept to himself. It no doubt damaged his image in the eyes of party since it would mean he sees eye-to-eye with Haley on a number of issues and thus makes him appear to be a “traitor,” which is exactly what Democrats are now calling him.
On the flip side, the fact he said he’s willing to be on the ticket with Haley means that she also holds a number of positions with which he can agree comfortably, which makes her look bad in the eyes of Republicans, so he might have inadvertently hurt her already severely damaged campaign too.
However, Hartman is also responsible since the whole thing was his idea.
In the least surprising news ever, Dean Phillips says he wants to team up with Nikki Haley on a “unity ticket.” pic.twitter.com/uzq6qssOTK

“Wouldn’t all your listeners be more compelled by maybe Nikki Haley and Dean Phillips getting together on a unity ticket and actually doing for the first time, perhaps in our country’s history, what most Americans really want, which is cooperation, collaboration, participation, decency, common sense, leadership?” the radio host went on to say during the interview with Phillips.
“So I’m gonna turn the question that way because there’s no way Nikki Haley will become the nominee in the GOP, and the fact of the matter is right now the Democratic Party doesn’t want competition and seems to want to coronate Joe Biden,” he continued.
Here’s more from BizPacReview:
He then asked, “Let’s say she ran as an independent, you would run as her VP?”
Phillips replied by basically saying OK.
“I think it’s a conversation Ambassador Haley and I should have, if that’s what this comes down to. In the event of a Donald Trump victory this November, which is almost certain if Joe Biden is the nominee, I think any American who opposes that should celebrate, encourage, and inspire an alternative that can actually win and lead our country in the way that people want, and I think anybody, including myself, should keep open minds and hearts about that,” he said.
“I hope Nikki Haley does and I think America could be very well served by some type of a bipartisan ticket that restores faith in government and most importantly demonstrates to the world, to the world, that America can work together and restore its extraordinary brand around the entire world,” he added.
The Church of Joe Biden responded with immediate outrage, taking to social media platform X to spew their anger. One of these deranged individuals actually had the gumption to say that unity would ultimately cause division. I know, I know. Take some Tylenol and the headache should subside.

He’s a rich, privileged, insincere guy with no integrity or heart. He has no concern for where he steps on his way up. Sounds like a MAGA candidate to me, he’s no leader. #BidenHarris2024 🇺🇸

Dean Phillips is so power hungry & desperate that he’ll try whatever he has to for that greed. He’s another narcissist who can’t stand the word no. Ppl have spoken “we don’t lk you Dean now or ever”! We’ve had his kind in office from 2017-2021.

@deanbphillips you were a breath of fresh air when you were elected to Congress. Now I’m embarrassed for you and your lack of understanding for the peril democracy is in. There is no “unity team”. Throwing a third party into the general election would add to the divide.

Again, the good news is, we don’t have to worry about this because Haley isn’t likely going to win the primary at this point. Thankfully.
