Congressman James Comer, a Kentucky Republican currently serving as the Chairman of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, gave an update on Wednesday concerning the status of an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden, saying it’s “imminent” as a few within the GOP have are demanding that the impeachment process move forward after investigations into the president and his family have been underway for months now.
The Daily Wire reported, “Comer, who has led the investigations into the Biden family’s overseas business dealings, told Fox News host Sean Hannity on Wednesday that there would likely be a vote soon on opening an impeachment inquiry.”
“There’s consensus in our conference now that we are going to have to go to the impeachment inquiry,” the Kentucky Republican said. “Obviously, that will be Speaker McCarthy’s call, but I feel like we’re there now, Sean. I feel like that is imminent.”
The current administration has tried to create a counter narrative to the influence peddling scheme story that has a massive amount of evidence supporting its existence by claiming Biden has never been involved in the business dealings of his son, Hunter Biden, especially those involving foreign entities. Of course, if there’s one lesson we ought to have learned from the three years Biden has sat behind the desk in the Oval Office, it’s that his ability to tell the truth is, hmm, shall we say, “impaired.”
“I am here to tell you, Sean, Joe Biden was front and center,” Comer remarked on the subject of whether or not the president was involved with Hunter’s business affairs. “He met with every one of these people that he claimed he never met with, that he never spoke to, and we are putting together the timeline where Hunter Biden was traveling to many of these countries on Air Force Two while Joe Biden was vice president.”
“The Oversight Committee on Wednesday called on the National Archives to produce records detailing when and where Hunter had access to Air Force Two. According to recent reports, Hunter accompanied then-Vice President Biden on more than a dozen foreign trips on Air Force Two — the name given to any plane currently transporting the Vice President of the United States,” the report continued.
More than a few House Republicans have already kicked off the impeachment process by introducing the articles, a list that includes Florida Rep. Greg Steube and Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee.
“It’s long past time to impeach Joe Biden,” Stebue stated in remarks delivered earlier this month. “He has undermined the integrity of his office, brought disrepute on the Presidency, betrayed his trust as President, and acted in a manner subversive of the rule of law and justice at the expense of America’s citizens.”
Rep. Ralph Norman, a Republican hailing from South Carolina, stated that he thinks it’s time for the House to take action to push the cause of impeachment forward, heaping a helping of praise upon Comer and the work he’s done in the investigation into the president and his family.
“I don’t know what more people need,” he said during an interview with Just the News. “Now’s the time. If not now, when?”
“Since Republicans have taken over James Comer has done a great job of exposing – not hearsay, not innuendo, not anecdotal evidence – but direct evidence that links the leader of the free world, Joe Biden, and his son, Hunter, to a money laundering scheme,” he continued.
Former President Donald Trump stated in a post published on Truth Social over the weekend that Republicans in the House need to “IMPEACH the BUM, or fade into OBLIVION,” going on to say an inquiry was not necessary.
“The Republicans in Congress, though well meaning, keep talking about an Impeachment ‘Inquiry’ on Crooked Joe Biden. Look, the guy got bribed, he paid people off, and he wouldn’t give One Billion Dollars to Ukraine unless they ‘got rid of the Prosecutor.’ Biden is a Stone Cold Crook-You don’t need a long INQUIRY to prove it, it’s already proven,” he wrote.
