Comedic actor Ben Stiller had the perfect response concerning whether or not he’s sorry for making the classic Hollywood satire film, “Tropic Thunder,” where fellow thespian — that’s “thespian” not “lesbian” — Robert Downey Jr. plays the role of a method actor who undergoes skin darkening and other physical alterations to play a black soldier in a movie within a movie. His answer was sheer perfection.
The actor said he has zero regrets about the film and even took to Twitter to share his resolve on the topic this week after a fan made the claim that he had been apologizing for the film.
“I make no apologies for Tropic Thunder. Don’t know who told you that. It’s always been a controversial movie since when we opened. Proud of it and the work everyone did on it,” he wrote in his post.

“The confusion appears to have originated over a resurfaced 2018 tweet in which Stiller in fact did apologize for Tropic Thunder, though his apology at the time seemed to address the blowback over the movie’s other movie-within-a-movie ‘Simple Jack,’ in which his character played a mentally handicapped man in an Oscar bait performance,” Breitbart reported.
Actually Tropic Thunder was boycotted 10 years ago when it came out, and I apologized then. It was always meant to make fun of actors trying to do anything to win awards. I stand by my apology, the movie, Shaun White, And the great people and work of the @SpecialOlympics. https://t.co/RqID5jIXP1

Robert Downey Jr. actually received an Oscar nomination for his part in the controversial film, though there wasn’t any actual controversy at the time. When Downey Jr. talked about the part during an interview with podcast host Joe Rogan back in 2020 he recounted, “And 90 percent of my black friends were like, ‘Dude, that was great.’”
Kind of sad how far we’ve fallen down the rabbit hole of political correctness, isn’t it? What in the world has happened to us? Well, that’s an easy one to explain. You see, radical leftists want to transform America into a socialist nation, believing that by doing so they can create utopian society.
Progressives think they can perfect humanity. If not for those pesky conservatives and Christians and their horrible individualism and talk of liberty. In order to get the kind of control they need to see their dream of a utopia become a reality — it’s really just a delusion — they want to divide the country. Keep us divided and it’s much easier to gain control and power while we fight amongst ourselves, distracted from what they are doing in the government to strip away our rights.
Add to that the fact they genuinely believe they can purge humankind of all evil, including racism, and you have a perfect recipe for the political correct poison sickening our culture. This is why they keep pressing forward with their insane racism narratives. Some of it is a hunger for power and control, but even that is grounded in the very idea that man is the arbiter of his own destiny and can reach any height. It’s the same level of arrogance we possessed at the tower of Babel, which can be traced back even further to the Garden of Eden when we believed the lie that we too could be gods.
Let’s hope others like Ben Stiller stand by their work and refuse to be canceled.
