President Joe Biden finally issued a response to this week’s announcement that there would be an impeachment inquiry into him concerning his potential involvement in an influence peddling scheme with various members of his family, including troubled first son Hunter Biden, and what he had to say might have just made things a whole lot worse for him. Then again, every time Biden opens his mouth he loses popularity, so I guess that means it’s just another day ending in “y.”
Earlier this week, according to reports from the Western Journal, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy announced that Republicans would be starting an impeachment inquiry into the president, the reason being a “culture of corruption” within the Biden family. There was no comment from the president on the day of the announcement, but he did weigh in on it during a fundraising event held in McLean, Virginia on Wednesday.
“According to The Hill, however, instead of addressing the specific allegations being leveled against him, the president played dumb, claiming not to know why House Republicans were pursuing the inquiry,” the WJ reported.
“Well, I tell you what, I don’t know quite why, but they just knew they wanted to impeach me,” Biden stated during the event. Biden added that he believes the GOP wants to impeach him as part of a political strategy concerning the federal budget. Well, this guy completely and totally missed the point, didn’t he? Is this incompetence, a shrugging of the shoulders, or more evidence of his raging cognitive decline? I think it’s all three.
“Now, best I can tell they want to impeach me because they want to shut down the government,” the president continued during the fundraiser, according to The Hill. To summarize the president’s comments, he’s essentially saying the move to impeach him is baseless and it’s all just a political attack designed to humiliate him. That can’t possibly be true. Biden does enough all on his own to embarrass himself.
“Of course, no one who has been paying attention is going to buy this explanation. The Republicans may be motivated by politics, but the basis for their allegations against the president is clear, and Biden knows exactly what this is about,” Peter Partoll of the Western Journal explained.
The main crux of the impeachment effort being headed up by Speaker McCarthy is how Hunter Biden, the first son, sold access to his father, who was then serving as the vice president, to Chinese foreign nationals, in exchange for influence over policies that impact the economy of their country. This, of course, provides a gaping hole in our national security and puts the nation at risk, something the Bidens don’t seem to care about.
Much evidence has come to light that seems to indicate Joe Biden was directly involved in this scheme and took a cut of the proceeds that came from the effort. If that is true, he deserves to be booted from office and prosecuted. No one is above the law. At least that’s how it should be.
