Ed Gainey, Mayor of Pittsburgh, placed strong emphasis on Monday that he and his administration would not be providing any cooperation with U.S. Immigration and Customs and Enforcement to help with Trump’s deportation operations. In other words, he’s protecting criminals who crossed our southern border and likely have a laundry list of convictions under their belts. His residents’ safety does not matter to him. This should provide a wake-up call for voters in the city. Leftists don’t think you matter. You have less rights than violent criminals who cross into our nation illegally. You are essentially pond scum in their eyes. Are you really going to take that from the left?
According to Fox News, Gainey was speaking at the Pennsylvania Press Club Monday when he said, “I am not going to be working with ICE. My administration will not work with ICE. We will do whatever is necessary to make our city more welcoming.” Well, buster, I hate to tell you this, but your city is located in the United States. We have federal laws that are to be enforced whether you like them or not. And these laws are just and fair. A person must have legal permission to enter the country. Obey or suffer consequences.
When asked, Gainey attacked ICE, claiming that it would not solve the ongoing immigration crisis.
“ICE is not going to end the situation of a failed immigration policy. It’s not going to do it,” Gainey remarked. “What it is going to do is create more situations where people feel scared. Where people don’t feel safe. Where people do things they normally wouldn’t do.”
It won’t solve the problem, eh? Is that so?
Then how do you explain that, sir? Hardly looks like a failed immigration policy to me. Unless by failed you mean the policies from the previous administration that were designed to allow illegal migrants to flood into the country and help shift demographics in favor of Democrats in future elections? Is that what you meant? Because yeah, that failed.
Instead, he encouraged pathways to citizenship for illegal immigrants. “Change it through the legislation,” Gainey said. “We know what needs to happen. Where’s the appetite to do it right?” Gainey made similar comments to CBS News Pittsburgh on Wednesday where he discussed working with local nonprofit organizations to assist people after President Donald Trump enacted several executive orders on immigration.
“We want to make sure that when immigrants are here they feel welcome. We want to make sure that they know we want to provide services for them,” Gainey remarked. You do, sure. The left wants these guys to become lifelong Democratic voters one day. But what about the rest of the people of the city? It’s them who will be handing over more and more of their hard earned money through taxation in order to pay for these “services.” Are they on board?
Gainey then said that he didn’t believe local law enforcement would be helping ICE either.
“We don’t want no hate, we don’t want no division, we don’t want no evil, we want to make sure we’re creating a city where everybody feels welcome,” Gainey commented. The mayor’s office then provided Fox with a statement saying, “Currently, the City of Pittsburgh has no evidence of ICE activity occurring within city limits and has not been asked to assist the agency in any way. ICE is a federal law enforcement agency that works outside of City control. Public Safety and the Bureau of Police will adhere to Bureau policies.”
You want to know why Trump won and won big? Gainey and people like him. Those who put illegal migrants ahead of American citizens and their needs and expect them, strapped for cash as they are by a rotten economy, to provide money to care them.
Prepare to see your city flip red, sir.
