Just one day after Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate as the Democratic Party nominee, she’s receiving significant push back from both conservatives and leftists. During a segment on CNN, one Republican took host Dana Bash to task after she made the claim that Walz’s “superpower” is “how normal” he is during what she believes is a surreal moment in American politics. I’m not sure what kind of substances Bash is partaking of these days, but whatever they are, they must be of the highest quality.
Scott Jennings, a conservative contributor for the liberal propagandist network, put Bash on blast — that’s a fun phrase to say, not going to lie — after she gave Harris props for picking Walz, who at one time during his career got some praise from both left and right before he made a hard turn toward liberal extremism. Republicans are now slamming Walz against the proverbial brick wall over his miserable handling of the riots that took place in his state following the death of George Floyd, almost allowing criminals posing as protestors to burn Minneapolis to the ground while stealing anything and everything that wasn’t nailed down.
“Is he [normal]?” Jennings asked in his reply to Bash’s claim, according to Trending News Politics. “I don’t know. Is it normal to let the biggest city in your state burn while you’re the Governor for four days destroying thousands of businesses, hundreds of millions of dollars in property damage, while you do nothing?” He continued, “Is it normal for your wife to say she opened the window so she could let the smell of tire fires waft in so they could take in the smells of this radical chaos and anarchy on the streets of Minneapolis? I don’t view any of this as normal. I view this through the lens of decision-making.”
“In two cases, they’ve showed us who they are. Kamala Harris absolutely bowed down to the radical left by not giving [Joshua] Shapiro [VP],” Jennings continued in his response, making a reference to the Jewish Pennsylvania governor who Harris advisors feared would increase tensions with pro-Palestinian activists. “There was a nasty campaign run against him. Everybody knows it. Nobody wants to admit it but everybody knows it. And she wound up choosing the person who was not Jewish and not as talented, and not from the state that she has to win.”
On Tuesday, Walz gave a speech that seemed to go over rather well with the audience attending the Democratic National Convention, which is being held in Chicago, one of the worst cities in the country for gun violence, despite having some of the most stringent gun control laws on the books. Guess that means bad guys aren’t giving up their firearms in order to comply with the law. Who could have possibly seen that coming?
During his talk, Walz promised that he would represent blue-collar Americans in a flyover county that the vast majority of elites from the political realm have refused to pay attention to. The Harris campaign’s choice of the Minnesota governor demonstrates that had they chosen Shapiro in order to gain an advantage in Pennsylvania, an important battleground state, would have ultimately alienated those on the far left. Harris is wanting to court those individuals and get their vote in the fight to prevent Trump from being the next president.
“Everybody could see that [Shapiro] was the best choice, but she couldn’t do it because the party is somewhat awash in antisemitism,” Jennings went on to say during the segment. “And for Walz, when he did what he did during the riots, to me, it was him saying ‘I don’t have the. strength or the character to stand up to this anarchy.’ So in two big decision points for this ticket, they’ve showed us they will always bow down to the radical left. So if you want to talk about normal, to the normal people in this country, bowing down to the radical left is not normal, it shouldn’t be normal, and it should be a flashing red light to the normies of America that this is not the ticket for you.”
Some who are already going full tilt against Walz have started to attack the governor concerning questions regarding his past service in the military. Two former members of the military have already come forward and revealed they knew Walz during his time serving in the National Guard and have made statements that indicate he might be guilty of “stolen valor” during his campaign for Congress by using a military title that was later rescinded.
