Two former employees of a Lululemon store located in Georgia are claiming that the reason they were fired from their positions was due to calling local law enforcement authorities on a couple of masked criminals who were busted on camera stealing items from the retailer. Is the store owned by a leftist? Because only a liberal would have the audacity to punish someone for actually doing the right thing.
“All of a sudden we see some gentlemen run into the store in masks and hoodies,” Jennifer Ferguson, who worked as an assistant manager at the Peachtree Corners store, stated during an interview with WXIA-TV. “They swiped until they couldn’t hold any more product and ran out the door.”
“According to WSB-TV, the brazen, daylight heist took place last month, and the trio of crooks stole thousands of dollars worth of clothes from the store at the Forum Shops,” TheBlaze reported.
Rachel Rogers, who was an important figure within the leadership of the store at the time of the incident, saw the theft unfolding on camera.
“We didn’t really feel very protected or know what else to do,” Rogers said while speaking with WXIA.
At the time of the theft, Rogers had worked for the retailer for five years, going on to say her store had been dealing with numerous thefts for months now.
“I was not working, and someone sent me a picture of the front entrance table. And I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, we just sold all of the product. Good job!’ And they were like, ‘No, someone just came in and stole everything,” she said, sharing details of a different incident.
The news outlet then revealed that no one employed by the store had called law enforcement concerning previous thefts.
However, both ladies ended up calling the cops that were caught on video, which is apparently against the store’s policy. And, for the record, allow me to say that’s the stupidest policy I’ve ever heard. You’re not allowed to call the police when people are stealing from the store? So they’re just allowed to show up and do whatever they want? Seriously?
“We are not supposed to get in the way. You kind of clear path for whatever they’re going to do,” Ferguson then stated during the conversation with the station, “And then, after it’s over, you scan a QR code. And that’s that. We’ve been told not to put it in any notes because that might scare other people. We’re not supposed to call the police, not really supposed to talk about it.”
“The Gwinnett Police Department confirmed to WXIA that there have been a few incidents in the area, and the station said a police report indicated that the three shoplifters recorded on video are facing felony robbery charges,” TheBlaze said.
Both Rogers and Ferguson were handed their pink slips as a result of the incident, with Rogers going on to say the reason “wasn’t very clear. They didn’t give specific reasoning besides just saying they have a ‘no-tolerance policy.'”
“They said I was terminated immediately with no severance because they have a zero-tolerance policy,” Ferguson said.
WXIA then attempted to get a comment from Lululemon on the policy, but, as of this writing, received no answer. The company told another outlet that they have a zero tolerance policy for chasing or physically engaging with individual during a robbery.
“It isn’t clear from the clip if Ferguson or Rogers physically engaged with the shoplifters, but the videos does appear to show the pair exiting the store as the crooks ran to a getaway vehicle,” the report continued.
The two women said they hope the company’s policy is changed in the future.
