Fox News has apparently learned nothing from the ratings disaster they are currently suffering as a result of firing their top rated host, Tucker Carlson, a few weeks ago, as they are now upping their assault against him by attempting to shut down the show he’s doing on Twitter, which, in reality is a violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution.
The Western Journal is reporting that on Monday, Fox News, which unceremoniously booted Carlson from the network in April, sent out a “cease and desist” letter to the popular pundit in an attempt to stop him from doing a show on Twitter, after only two episodes have been posted on the social media platform.
A report from Axios did not provide details of the letter, but did say that it had, “NOT FOR PUBLICATION” plastered across the top in bold font.
Carlson’s attorney, Harmeet Dhillon, issued a fiery statement to Fox in response.
“Fox News continues to ignore the interests of its viewers, not to mention its shareholder obligations,” the statement went on to say, according to Axios.
“Doubling down on the most catastrophic programming decision in the history of the cable news industry, Fox is now demanding that Tucker Carlson be silent until after the 2024 election,” Dhillon’s statement read.
“Tucker will not be silenced by anyone … He is a singularly important voice on matters of public interest in our country and will remain so,” it added.
For all the friends who have been asking “why don’t we see you on Fox anymore?” — This is why. I am passionately committed to free speech and a free flow of information necessary for a free society. Until Fox stops trying to silence Tucker, it’s not a place for me. And I feel for…

Just last week, Fox News spoke with the legal team representing their former employee, informing them that his Twitter show was a violation of his contract. Carlson is still technically under contract with Fox News until January 2025.

“However, Carlson has taken the legal position that Fox abrogated the contract in the way it treated him. He has hired a lawyer to address the legal terms needed for him to get out from under Fox News and the contract,” the Western Journal explained.
In the very first letter to the former host, Fox general counsel Bernard Gugar said that Carlson is “in breach” of the current contract.
“In connection with such breach and pursuant to the Agreement, Fox expressly reserves all rights and remedies which are available to it at law or equity,” Gugar stated, according to the report published by Axios.

“Former Fox News host Megyn Kelly, who rose to fame on Fox before ditching the network for NBC, then moving on to start her own YouTube show, said Fox News is in ‘deep panic’ about competing with Carlson, according to The Wrap,” the report continued.

“They recognize that he will hurt them, and they’re doing everything in their power to keep him on the sidelines,” she went on to say during an episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” on Thursday.
Kelly went on to say during her program that the first warning letter sent to Tucker Carlson which was about his alleged breach of contract demonstrates “how panicked they are about Tucker 2.0”
Given the success of his Twitter show, coupled with their massive decrease in ratings, should absolutely have them shaking in their boots. It could end up bringing their whole company down deep into the toilet, especially after the massive settlement payment they have been ordered to pay to Dominion Voting Systems, which likely contributed to the network’s decision to fire Tucker Carlson.
