One of the things we often hear from liberals when it comes to the issue of the Second Amendment is how there’s never a good guy around to stop the bad guys with a gun, therefore, people shouldn’t have guns. Or something like that. It’s nonsense no matter how it is stated. There are plenty of stories out there floating around of good guys, armed with a weapon, taking down bad guys and saving lives. And there are also plenty of stories of dudes who are simply bad to the bone who take down bad guys with guns without being armed.
In fact, a security guard is now being hailed as a hero for potentially thwarting a mass shooting after he took down an assailant in a devil mask who was about to enter a famous Florida strip club in Tampa. I mean, not the classiest place to work, sure, but that’s beside the point.
According to TheBlaze, the incident happened Sunday morning at around 1:15 a.m. at the Mons Venus club when local law enforcement authorities stated that 44-year-old Michael Rudman attempted to enter the establishment armed with a gun.
Surveillance footage captured the whole incident.
“Manuel Anthony ‘Manny’ Resto explained to reporters what he did during a media briefing with the Tampa Police Department,” the report stated. “Resto said he saw the man approach the door of the club with a mask and he initially believed it was some kind of joke.”
“I noticed the devil mask and I was like ‘ok, it’s not Halloween,’” Resto remarked.
When he noticed the suspect was carrying a gun, he leapt into action and attempted to grab the weapon while bystandards took off to try and seek shelter from the violence. Rudman can be seen in the footage hitting Resto with the gun and a flashlight that was held in his opposite hand.
During one point in the scuffle, Resto wrestled the gun from Rudman and point it at him.
“I had no intention of shooting; I just wanted to scare him and get him on the ground,” Resto said. That, ladies and gentlemen, is called restraint. Unfortunately, the ploy was unsuccessful and Rudman tried to keep wrestling with Resto who was hit in the head several times and revealed that he almost went unconscious.
“I was not gonna let him win,” Resto proclaimed. “He was not gonna hurt nobody.”
We need more men who think like Resto. Our society has neutered most males and made them weak and pathetic, too soft to ever stand up against such aggressive wickedness. Thankfully, there are those like Resto who have resisted.
Here’s more from TheBlaze report:
At that point other security guards rushed in to help Resto subdue the very large man. Police said that one gunshot was fired into the front door of the club. They also said that Rudman had the words “kill” and “dark one” written on his arms.
Investigators said they found two full magazines in the suspect’s pockets. In his truck parked outside they club, police said they found more ammunition, knives, and additional firearm accessories.
“There is no question that the security guards who disarmed this suspect saved dozens of lives through their heroic acts, and I am thankful that our officers were able to take this individual into custody before he had the chance to carry out whatever he had planned,” Tampa Interim Police Chief Lee Bercaw said concerning the incident. “We will continue to actively and thoroughly investigate this case to get a better understanding of what led up to this thwarted incident.”
What makes this story even more awesome is that Resto used to be a professional wrestler who worked under the name, “The Puerto Rican Punisher.”
The suspect, Rudman, is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, battery, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon. Police revealed that Rudman was incoherent when they apprehended him and the motivation for the attack is still unknown.
