House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, a Republican from Louisiana, announced on Tuesday that he is currently receiving treatment for multiple myeloma, which is a type of blood cancer. Man, this dude has been through the ringer over the last decade. It’s sad to hear he once again has to fight for his life, this time against a disease instead of a rabid left-wing wacko.
Scalise made the announcement in a post published on X, formerly known as Twitter. I mean, don’t we all know that already? Surely by now everyone is aware of the brand switch, right? Guess you can never provide too much clarity in a written post, huh?

“After a few days of not feeling like myself this past week, I had some blood work done. The results uncovered some irregularities and after undergoing additional tests, I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma, a very treatable blood cancer,” Scalise stated in the post, according to the Daily Wire.
“I have now begun treatment, which will continue for the next several months. I expect to work through this period and intend to return to Washington, continuing my work as Majority Leader and serving the people of Louisiana’s First Congressional District,” the Republican congressman continued.
“I am incredibly grateful we were able to detect this early and that this cancer is treatable,” he added. “I am thankful for my excellent medical team, and with the help of God, support of my family, friends, colleagues, and constituents, I will tackle this with the same strength and energy as I have tackled past challenges.”
Scalise, who is 57, kicked off his congressional career back in 2008, after serving for over 10 years in the Louisiana state legislature. He is perhaps most widely known for surviving a shooting carried out by a radical progressive during practice for the congressional baseball game back in 2017. Heck, Scalise is such a stud he even participated in future games, not allowing the leftist shooter the opportunity to have the victory by instilling him with terror and fear. That’s a man, baby.
Bunches of folks got on X to show their support for Scalise as he starts this new fight for survival.
“There is no stronger fighter than [Scalise],” House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) responded to the announcement. “Steve is as tough and kind as they come, and he has beaten so many unbeatable odds. The Legend from Louisiana is beloved by his colleagues and America and we know he will fight this next battle with that same resolve. We are proud to stand by to support Steve and his family as they embrace strength and faith in this next challenge.”
Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel spoke highly of Scalise, calling him a “a fighter and a great American. We know you can beat this and we are praying for your full and quick recovery!”
“Please join me in praying for my friend, Congressman [Scalise]. We know he’s tough and will fight this disease just as he’s fought for the people of Louisiana,” stated Louisiana Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin.
Let’s all keep Scalise in our thoughts and prayers, lifting up his family during this time as well.
