The son of President Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, has pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to a series of felony gun charges he’s facing at a federal courthouse located in Wilmington, Delaware. This isn’t surprising. Hunter is hoping his father’s political connections can help keep his butt out of serious trouble, despite the first attempt at doing so, a sweetheart deal, falling to pieces thanks to a Trump-appointed judge.
Biden’s attorney, Abbe Lowell, said, “Mr. Biden pleads not guilty,” the Daily Wire reported.
“A federal grand jury indicted Biden, 53, last month on counts related to his purchase of a Colt Cobra 38SPL revolver while he was a drug addict in October 2018. Biden faces a maximum of 25 years in prison and up to $750,000 in fines if convicted. After Biden pleaded not guilty, the judge explained the terms of his release, which reportedly included: supervision by a U.S. probation officer in the Central District of California, seeking employment, and not using drugs or alcohol,” the report stated.
The deadline for pretrial motions has been set for Nov. 3. In comments that were made a month ago, Lowell suggested that one of the statutes under which Biden might be charged could potentially be unconstitutional and made the prediction the case would be tossed out. Yeah, that doesn’t seem to be happening. I don’t know how much faith Biden should have in his lawyer at this point, but hey, I’m not exactly rooting for the guy. I hope he gets locked up.
“Attorney General Merrick Garland granted Weiss special counsel status in August, giving the U.S. attorney broader authority to bring charges outside of his own district. Biden could still face other charges including tax evasion counts that were part of the plea agreement that fell apart. Republicans in Congress have been looking into the years-long criminal investigation, spurred by whistleblowers alleging that the endeavor has been slow-walked or faced roadblocks by uncooperative U.S. attorneys in places such as Washington, D.C., and California, before Weiss was given special counsel powers,” the report continued.
Justice Department officials have tried their best to deny the politicization of federal law enforcement and the legal system. Garland, during testimony delivered before the House Judiciary Committee just last month, stated that Weiss always had the clear to bring any charges he saw were warranted against the first son, however, he did admit that other U.S. attorneys refused to work with Weiss.
In closing, the Daily Wire reported, “House Republicans recently announced an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden over allegations of corruption. A scope memo listed the criminal probe into Hunter Biden as one area of interest. The White House has dismissed the impeachment inquiry as being ‘based on lies.‘”
There’s so much corruption in the Biden family it’s practically oozing out of their pores. It’s time they face penalties for their crimes. No one in this country should be considered above the law, especially politicians. Such a principle is what made this nation great from the very beginning and what will continue to keep it as such in the future.
