Future first lady Melania Trump is working with Amazon to produce a brand new documentary film that will be directed by Brett Ratner and released in theaters. It will provide audiences with an “unprecedented, behind-the-scenes” look at her life. Melania is actually receiving an executive producer credit for the documentary, which is set to come out later in 2025, according to information contained in a press release from Amazon Prime Video.
“Prime Video will be sharing more details on the project as filming progresses and release plans are finalized,” a statement from an Amazon spokesperson went on to read. “We are excited to share this truly unique story with our millions of customers around the world.”
Those who aren’t what you might call “big fans” of the Trump family are already slamming the project as being part of a campaign by Jeff Bezos, owner and founder of Amazon to help rehabilitate his relationship with the president-elect after the two shared feuding public statements. According to Blaze Media, he’s also planning to donate a million bucks to Trump’s inaugural fund and has already met with him at his estate in Florida.
The soon-to-be first lady has largely stayed out of the limelight in recent years, but in September, she agreed to her first sit-down interview in two years to talk about the assassination attempts against her husband. “They were miracles, really,” Melania said to Ainsley Earhardt. “I think something was watching over him. I think it’s almost like [our] country really needs him.”
I’d definitely say that this is a strategy put in play by Bezos to help build a bridge across the gap that exists between himself and Trump. It’s a smart play. There are pro-business policies and measures that the Amazon owner wants to see put in play, particularly getting rid of regulations, that will help his company and its employees become far more successful.
I have no doubt that’s not the only reason. Lots of people have been “in the closet” about their support for Trump over the last decade. However, the landslide victory and the winning of the popular vote have seemingly emboldened those individuals to, bit-by-bit, come out publicly in support of the president-elect. So maybe this is how Bezos has really felt the entire time.
One thing is for sure. If he gets on Trump’s good side, it means he will be getting on the good side of a huge swath of Americans who believe the right way forward is MAGA.
