I’m really beginning to worry that we are headed for the end of the world. And no, it’s not because of the current threat of global warfare that exists or due to the return of Jesus, though I’d totally be down for that right now. It’s because Stephanie Ruhle, the host of “11th Hour” on MSNBC, one of the most liberal news networks and pro-Democrat propaganda makers in the country, came out in an episode of the program on Wednesday and admitted that President Joe Biden is trying to buy votes with his student loan plans.
Stop. The. Press.
However, Ruhle was not condemning the action, going on to say of the plans, “isn’t this how politics works? Fulfilling campaign promises to certain groups.”
A politician should absolutely keep his word when he makes a promise to his constituents. That’s not the problem. The plans themselves are the issue. Forgiving student loans does not just make the debt disappear into the ether. Someone is going to have to pick up the tab. In the case of student loans, it’s you and me. The American taxpayer. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but we’re pretty heavily taxed as it is. With an economy as bad as ours, we simply can’t handle more taxation.
Liberals can’t seem to wrap their minds around this.
Ruhle went on to say, according to Breitbart, “[L]et’s talk about Joe Biden and this student debt relief. We’re seeing Republicans push so hard against it, saying Joe Biden is buying votes. If he’s doing this for college grads, what about all the people who don’t go to college? They get nothing, they’re left out. Isn’t that how politics works? The carried interest loophole only helps the private equity industry. It doesn’t help us. Corporate tax cuts only [help] corporations. It doesn’t help the rest of us. When Donald Trump goes down to Mar-a-Lago and says, I’m going to lower your taxes, he’s lowering the taxes of the richest of the rich people. So, this whole, you are buying votes, isn’t this just how politics works? Fulfilling campaign promises to certain groups.”
And if you think is the most insane thing Ruhle said this week, you’d be wrong. She also, apparently, wants the president of Chicago’s Federal Reserve to inform her viewers that they are actually in a much better position financially than they realize. Because the people who have their boots-on-the-ground, who are actually having to live with the consequences of out-of-control spending, high inflation, and oppressive taxation are too stupid, according to liberal logic, to see how good they really have it.
“We need an economic explainer,” the MSNBC host stated during her show, according to a report from Fox Business. “People are confused, they’re exhausted, but they’re also doing quite well.”
Ruhle, who hosts MSNBC’s “The Eleventh Hour,” had been discussing a recent Federal Reserve report that “shows people are still struggling to cover day-to-day expenses, even as inflation has slowed.” She noted how some major brands are responding by enticing consumers with slashed prices, “Target says it is cutting prices on 5,000 essential items, things like milk, butter, pet food. Wendy’s is now offering a $3 breakfast deal. And rivals like McDonald’s are offering new lower-priced value meals.”
She enlisted Austan Goolsbee, the president and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, to tell her viewers about the current state of the economy, noting to Goolsbee, “Lots of things that were not considered luxuries before now are, because things have gotten expensive. However, we have more purchasing power today than we did in 2019. What’s going on with the American consumer psyche?”
“There’s never a bigger difference between the vibes and the actual numbers than we’re facing right now, and I don’t think we totally understand that,” Goolsbee said. “Maybe it’s rooted in a little bit if you ask people ‘How is your personal situation?’ and they say ‘Pretty good,’ ‘How is the national economy?’ They don’t like it at all. I think a lot of it comes from inflation being very unpopular and there is a bit of a lag behind conditions.”
These folks are clearly out of touch with reality. Let’s show them just how over their policies we are when it comes election time this fall.
