Madonna made a complete and total fool of herself during a live performance in Inglewood, California last Thursday, after calling out a fan for not getting up and dancing to the music during the show. As it turns out, the poor woman was in a wheelchair. Yikes. Talk about feeling like an idiot.
Of course, it’s hard to make out details like that when you’re on stage and the lights are in your face, not to mention as an entertainer it’s Madonna’s job to engage with the crowd and get them into the performance and participating, so it’s somewhat understandable why she’d make a comment if she thought someone wasn’t having a good time.
It was still dumb to do though.
via The Daily Wire:
During her show at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California, on Thursday, the 65-year-old pop singer directly addressed the individual from the stage. “What are you doing sitting down over there? What are you doing sitting down?” Madonna can be heard saying on video clips of the interaction. She walked to the edge of the stage to get a closer look at the offending party.
After seeing the concert attendee was in a wheelchair, the “Like a Virgin” singer quickly backtracked and apologized. “Oh, okay. Politically incorrect. Sorry about that,” she said after seeing the fan was in a wheelchair. “I’m glad you are here,” Madonna added.

Of course, a number of folks on social media wondered why a person would be called out for sitting down during a concert whether they were disabled or not.
“Does it matter if they’re sitting or standing? they paid for the ticket and took the time to be there? Isn’t that enough???” one account stated.
“Ok you shouldn’t be calling people out for sitting down anyways. She’s not the queen of England,” another X user stated. “Some people are tired or have conditions where they need to sit. You want them to leave altogether?”
The Material Girl is currently on the Celebration Tour, which was put on hiatus last year because of medical issues.
“This show every night is not really so hard on me physically. It’s hard on me emotionally because I’m really telling you the story of my life. My heart is on my sleeve,” she remarked from the stage of one of her Inglewood shows last week. “I’ve fallen off a lot of horses and broken a lot of bones … but nothing can stop me.”
“I’m pretty sure that was God saying to me, ‘Do you want to come? Want to come up with me? [I said] no,’” Madonna went on to say about her hospital experience.
Yeah, given how Madonna has oversexualized herself for decades and is extremely loose with her morals, I’m not so sure that was God calling her to come to heaven. She might want to consider opening a Bible and actually doing what it says. Anyway, let’s hope she’s learned her lesson about calling out fans from the stage. Otherwise, she might lose some serious cash flow on this tour.
