MSNBC news anchor Joe Scarborough surprisingly put the screws to Hunter Biden’s lawyer on Friday, demanding that he explain the millions in foreign business dealings he and other members of the Biden family have received in recent years. I mean, it’s just plain weird when a raging left-wing network actually does some legitimate journalism, especially since we’ve come to expect the exact opposite from them.
According to the Daily Caller, “Scarborough brought Biden’s defense counsel Abbe Lowell on MSNBC’s ‘Morning Joe’ to defend his client’s actions and clarify how much Hunter Biden received from foreign business partners.”
“At the same time, I think Americans are asking what did Hunter Biden think he was getting that $7 million for? Why would he be getting paid so much money?” Scarborough asked during the program.
“Stop with your $7 million and talk about how many years that Hunter has been in business and what happened in each of those specific years. When you say it that way people think somebody just sent him a check for $7 million on April the 1st,” Lowell responded.
“Well, well, well, no, no, no, no, but help me out here again,” Scarborough barged in on Lowell.
“And I’m glad you’re here to break this down. Obviously Jared [Kushner] raised his $3 billion very quickly. We have numbers being thrown around. The $7 million is not what [House Oversight Chairman James] Comer is saying. Comer has a much higher, much more elevated number. I guess the Washington Post reported it was $7 million. What’s the $7 million over and how many countries did it come from?” Scarborough then stated.
“Well, ok, so first of all, it’s much more complicated than to say it comes from countries. There are joint ventures between American entities and in one or two occasions a potential foreign entity to create the possibility of jobs and energy in the United States. That’s too complicated to try to explain, but I can answer the question that you asked in the following way,” Lowell said in response to Scarborough.
“Over the time that he was in business, this is, again, something that people ought to pay attention to. Hunter Biden went to Georgetown University, went to Yale law school, was on the board of directors of a bank, was on it board of directors of Amtrak, was somebody who worked in an international law firm. People seem to forget this is not the person out there having people write checks for no reason. He’s a capable, educated, experienced person. Now, if Congress wants to start saying, ‘Wait, does he get opportunities because his last name is Biden,’ they should look to themselves,” Lowell continued.
The MSNBC host was making a reference to a piece that was published by the Washington Post created by a leftist fact checker, Glenn Kessler, who revealed how the House Oversight Committee’s memos outlined the foreign business deals by Hunter Biden and demonstrated how the first son made a cool $7 million directly.
The committee presented bank records that show members of the Biden family and various business associates ended up pulling in more than $20 million business connections located in Romania, Kazakhstan, China, Russia, and Ukraine. Joseph Ziegler, an IRS whistleblower, provided testimony before the House Oversight Committee back in July that demonstrated the Biden family and associates pulled in $17 million from business partners located in Ukraine, China, Romania.
