Speaker of the House Mike Johnson has issued a statement concerning bathrooms in the Capitol, saying, “All single-sex facilities in the Capitol and House Office Buildings — such as restrooms, changing rooms, and locker rooms — are reserved for individuals of that biological sex.”
The comments come after a biological male who identifies as a female won an election to the House of Representatives, forcing Congress to come to some sort of a decision about whether or not said individual should be allowed to use the women’s restroom or locker room facilities. As you can see, the right call was made. Men should not be allowed to share spaces designed for women only. As Johnson later said, “Women deserve women only spaces.”
Speaker Johnson confirms my scoop, issuing a statement on Capitol bathrooms:

If you would have told high school aged me that one day we wouldn’t be able to define what a woman is, that we as a society would be discussing whether or not dudes in dresses should be allowed in women’s bathrooms or in female sports, I would have laughed hysterically and not bought a word of it. That’s how far down the rabbit hole of weird we’ve tumbled. You simply can’t make this stuff up. It’s absurdity.
Many mainstream media outlets were inflamed over Johnson’s statement, including the one he gave about whether or not Representative-elect Sarah McBride — formerly Tim McBride — is a woman or not. At first, the answer the speaker of the House gave tip-toed around the tulips and avoided a straight answer. However, his second statement on the matter seemed pretty clear.
via Yahoo News:
Earlier on in the day Johnson had ducked a question at a press conference about whether Rep.-elect Sarah McBride, a Delaware Democrat who will be the first transgender member of Congress, is a man or a woman. Johnson apparently got enough backlash from right-wingers that his office assembled reporters so he could make another statement.
“I want to make a statement and be very clear,” Johnson went on to say during his brief second press conference in the Capitol. “I was asked a question and I rejected the premise because the answer is so obvious. For anybody who doesn’t know my well-established record on this issue let me be unequivocally clear: A man is a man and a woman is a woman, and a man cannot become a woman.”
Anti-trans sentiment is running high among Republicans on Capitol Hill thanks in part to Donald Trump’s successful presidential campaign, which spent millions on TV ads accusing Vice President Kamala Harris of being for “they/them.” Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) on Tuesday even reportedly said in a closed-door meeting she would “fight” any trans woman who tried to use the women’s restroom near the House floor, in what was likely a reference to McBride.
“I shouldn’t have to, but, you know, it’s pretty aggressive for biological men to be invading our spaces for women,” Greene said in comments given to reporters after the meeting.
