Liberalism is not only a mental disorder, it completely and totally zaps your intelligence level giving you the smarts of a geriatric hamster with Alzheimer’s. Want proof? This, of courses, isn’t proof of the scientific variety, but it’s a fairly good anecdote that backs up my claim. It seems that “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” star, Bob Odenkirk, confessed that he ignored the advice of a “cranky conservative” doctor and then, as a result, experienced a heart attack.
One conclusion we can draw from this is that Odenkirk is a comedic genius, but at the same time, a total idiot. Just look at his work as a writer for “Saturday Night Live.” Some of the most classic skits the show ever produced were written by him. His talent is immeasurable. But so is incompetence.
The 60-year-old actor revealed the entire incident on a recent episode of the “Don’t Ask Tig,” podcast.
“When I was 50, I went in, he was a heart doctor, Cedar-Sinai, and he had signs up all around his office at this point [saying] ‘We do not accept Obamacare,’ and I hated this side of him that I only learned over time,” Odenkirk remarked during the program, according to the Daily Wire.
Odenkirk then explained that the doctor, who he’d been a patient of for two decades, told him he should probably start taking statins to help bring down his cholesterol levels. . “And I said, ‘Well, I don’t know. I don’t have heart disease in my family.’ He goes, ‘Just take ’em,”‘ he recounted.
The star of the smash hit “Better Call Saul” then revealed he went to get a second opinion. This new doctor said he did not need to be on any medication. And then Odenkirk almost kicked the bucket in 2021 while he was filming episodes for the show, as his heart completely stopped beating for a whopping 18 minutes.
So what did the actor take away from this incident?
He should have ignored his doctor’s politics and listened to what he recommended for his health.
“And I had a heart attack. And I think the first doctor was right,” Odenkirk went on to say during the episode. “The cranky conservative jackass was right, because he was a good doctor. His political point of view doesn’t have anything to do with his ability to judge your health and your health choices and needs.”
While the original choice to ignore the doctor was clearly stupid, it seems Odenkirk learned his lesson. Too bad he had to almost die to do so, but hey, he’s got a second chance at life many do not get. Hopefully, he uses it wisely.
After a total of five weeks in recovery, the comedian returned work, explaining he’d never felt more energized.
“I came out of it with a strangely fresh energy towards my whole life, like I was born again,” he added. “Like, ‘Hey, everybody!.. Let’s go back to work and make stuff!’”
Like most actual, real life human beings, Odenkirk’s full political belief system is far more complex than simply left or right. While participating in an interview in 2017, the “Breaking Bad” alumni said that he’s “obviously more of a liberal than I am a conservative,” but added, “you might be surprised at some of the positions I hold.
