‘The View’ Co-Hosts Go Full Screech Mode Over Senate Dress Code: ‘Come In Buck Naked If You Want To’

On the latest episode of the worst morning television talk show to ever grace the airwaves, “The View,” co-hosts were all tore up over the recent change in the Senate’s dress code, which stated that the standards of male senators wearing suit coats while they were on the Senate floor for deliberations would not be strictly enforced from this point forward. Anyone want to guess who helped bring about this massive change in decorum? If you guessed Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. John Fetterman, give yourself a pat on the back because you nailed it.

“The change – largely presumed to be designed to protect Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and his apparent refusal to abandon the hoodies and gym shorts he seems to love — provoked a wide range of responses from the cohosts,” the Daily Wire reported.

She says it's a problematic "issue" that Republicans think our lawmakers should dress professionally and show the Capitol respect.

“Whoopi Goldberg kicked off the discussion, calling the move ‘really wonderful’ for Fetterman and suggesting that the Republicans’ fixation on decorum in the Senate was the real problem. ‘If you don’t want to wear shorts and a sweatsuit, you’re not obligated to,'” she stated.

Former teacher Joy Behar weighed in on the matter, expressing a much different take on it than Goldberg’s, comparing the loosening of the standards to allowing teachers to dress more casually and how doing so sent the wrong message to students. However, Behar still whined about Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis offering his take on the change, saying, “He’s been dumbing down America for the past couple of years.”

Alyssa Fara Griffin stated that the GOP just needs to drop the issue and just leave Fetterman alone, however, she was in favor of their being a dress code for officials elected to office. Surprisingly, Sunny Hostin also supported having a dress code, stating that gym shorts and other casual attire on the Senate floor disrespected the office.

“You don’t wear jeans and you don’t wear hoodies and you don’t wear what you would wear coming out of the gym … it demeans the office,” she explained. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but Hostin is correct. When you become a member of Congress, either House or the Senate, you are representing not only your constituents, but the country as a whole on a global stage. We don’t want to look like a bunch of slobs who have no respect for the positions of power in our government. It’s imperative to look professional and like such a position holds esteem and honor in our society.

SLOBS UNITE!
Whoopi proclaims "I don't care what you wear as long as you get the job done! I don't care!"
"If that's how he's comfortable…I dress in what I wake up in," she argued on behalf of Fetterman.

It was about this time that Goldberg decided the world needed more of her air pollution so she jumped back in saying, “I don’t care what you wear as long as you get the job done! I don’t care! If that’s how he’s comfortable … I dress in what I wake up in.”

Goldberg then attempted to make a  case for the dress code being a violation of Fetterman’s rights. Yes, it’s true. She’s delusional.

Another co-host of the program, Sara Haines, was also in favor of a dress code, explaining that being less casual in dress helps people enter a different mindset and reveals they hold the job in high esteem. However, she did state that the GOP was overstepping their boundaries by complaining about the new change.

"It wouldn't be a problem for me as long as you did your job. You can come in buck naked if you want to," Whoopi proclaims as the final word on the subject. pic.twitter.com/DruOuGn8Fi

Goldberg wanted to have the last word, so she ended the segment by stating, “It wouldn’t be a problem for me as long as you did your job. You can come in buck naked if you want to.”

Hard pass for me on that one.
