Trump Reaction To ‘Merchant Of Death’ Trade Far Superior To That Of Joe Biden

When it comes to responses to the trade of Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout, who is known as the “Merchant of Death,” for professional WNBA star Brittney Griner in a prisoner exchange, former President Donald Trump’s comments are far superior to Biden’s decision.

“I turned down a deal with Russia for a one on one swap of the so-called Merchant of Death for Paul Whelan,” Trump stated in a post published Sunday on Truth Social.

The Western Journal explained, “Whelan is a retired Marine who has been imprisoned in a Russian labor camp since 2018 on dubious espionage charges that he has strongly denied. He was in Russia to attend a wedding when he was detained.”

“I wouldn’t have made the deal for a hundred people in exchange for someone that has killed untold numbers of people with his arms deals,” Trump said in his response to the deal. “I would have gotten Paul out, however, just as I did with a record number of other hostages.”

The former president said, “The deal for Griner is crazy and bad. The taking wouldn’t have even happened during my Administration, but if it did, I would have gotten her out, fast!”

Griner was arrested back in February of this year on drug possession and smuggling charges involving an incident at an airport in Moscow. She pleaded guilty to the charges during the trial.

The family of Mr. Whelan and other U.S. officials have leveled accusations at the Russian government of potentially making up the espionage charges against the veteran in order to use him as some kind of bargaining chip, ABC News stated.

Here’s a little additional information to let you know just how much of a bad guy this “Merchant of Death” fellow really is:

Conspiring to kill Americans by supplying weapons to a Colombian terrorist group.
• Conspiring to kill U.S. officers and employees.
• Conspiring to acquire and use anti-aircraft missiles.
• Conspiring to help a designated foreign terrorist organization.

So rather than attempting some kind of prisoner swap that would include a Marine who served his country, the current president sought to pander to both the black and LGBT community by getting Griner out of a Russian penal colony in exchange for an arms dealer who plotted to snuff out American lives.

I mean, how much more of this garbage are we going to put up with? Biden has made on massive screw up after another, and it feels as if it is impossible to hold the man accountable for his actions. Something has to be done.

“The contrast between the two American prisoners speaks volumes about this president’s warped priorities: Griner is a Black Lives Matter supporter who protested the national anthem in 2020,” the Western Journal reported.

In the meantime, Whelan is proudly belting out the National Anthem from his cell every single morning. And yet, no one is going to bat for him. This is ridiculous.

“He gets up every morning and sings the national anthem, I think as much to irritate the guards as to keep his own morale up,” Whelan’s brother, David Whelan, went on to tell KTLA-TV.

This decision was so bad that there were even some Democrats who torched Biden for his awful deal.

Last week, during an episode of his evening program, Fox News host Tucker Carlson stated that hating America is something that earns rewards from Biden. Looks like he was right on the money.

“Well, you should know that Whelan is a Trump voter, and he made the mistake of saying so on social media. He’s paying the price for that now,” Carlson remarked on his show. “Brittney Griner is not. She’s got very different politics.”

“Brittney Griner despises the United States. She’s been very vocal about that. This country is so repellent and immoral that two years ago she said: ‘I honestly feel we should not play the national anthem during our basketball season,'” he continued.

The host then added, “She hates the country so much she doesn’t want to hear its anthem. That’s the kind of position that gets you rewarded by Joe Biden. ‘Hate America? Perfect. We’ll free the guy who sold weapons to drug cartels to get you out early.’”
