A Democratic governor and a fellow Democrat in Congress have both come out with strong statements against President Joe Biden’s decision to go ahead and issue a pardon for his troubled younger son, Hunter Biden. Much of the anger comes from the fact that Biden and the White House stated on many occasions there would be no pardon for Hunter, which clearly was nothing but blowing smoke up the collective backsides of the American people. I have a feeling he was going to do this from the very moment Hunter got in trouble.
The sweeping pardon the president issued for his baby boy covers every crime he committed “or may have committed or taken part in” over the course of an 11-year period of time.
Left-wing extremist Jared Polis, the governor of Colorado, got on X and said, “While as a father I certainly understand President @JoeBiden ’s natural desire to help his son by pardoning him, I am disappointed that he put his family ahead of the country.”
“This is a bad precedent that could be abused by later Presidents and will sadly tarnish his reputation,” he went on to say. “When you become President, your role is Pater familias of the nation. Hunter brought the legal trouble he faced on himself, and one can sympathize with his struggles while also acknowledging that no one is above the law, not a President and not a President’s son.”

Arizona Democratic Congressman Greg Stanton said in a post on social media that the president “got this one wrong.”
“This wasn’t a politically-motivated prosecution,” he explained. “Hunter committed felonies, and was convicted by a jury of his peers.”
President-elect Donald Trump was also unhappy to hear about the pardon, again, due to his stating previously that he wouldn’t do so. Not to mention the fact there are still folks from the January 6th incident who should have been pardoned and released long ago, yet the vindictive Biden has refused to do so, a point Trump himself made in his response.
“Does the Pardon given by Joe to Hunter include the J-6 Hostages, who have now been imprisoned for years?” Trump went on to ask on social media. “Such an abuse and miscarriage of Justice!”
via The Daily Wire:
A spokesperson for the president said in a separate statement that “the failed witch hunts against President Trump have proven that the Democrat-controlled DOJ and other radical prosecutors are guilty of weaponizing the justice system.” “That system of justice must be fixed and due process must be restored for all Americans, which is exactly what President Trump will do as he returns to the White House with an overwhelming mandate from the American people,” the spokesperson added.
We’re supposed to be a nation of laws, right? Where everyone is subject to the same potential punishments for the same crimes. Hunter Biden actually admitted to criminal behavior and activity. This was not a politically motivated witch hunt, unlike the charges against Trump. Therefore, it’s not right for Hunter to be given a “get out of jail free” card.
What a travesty.
