President Nicolas Maduro of Venezuela made a serious accusation against the United States on Wednesday, saying that “secret military bases” are being built in Essequibo, which is a part of Guyana that is rich in oil and Caracas claim is its territory. I mean, come on, guys, if a crazy socialist from South America who is probably in bed with a number of seedy, dark, and potentially satanic cartels, says it, it has to be true, right?
“We have information proving that in the territory of Guyana Essequibo, temporarily administered by Guyana, secret military bases of the (US) Southern Command… a body of the CIA, have been installed,” Maduro went on to say.

He said the bases are an “aggression” against the people of southern and eastern Venezuela and were built “to prepare for an escalation against Venezuela.”
Maduro’s provocative remarks came as parliament held a ceremony commemorating a recent law laying out the defense of Guyana Essequibo, four months after a controversial, non-binding referendum overwhelmingly approved the creation of a Venezuelan province in the disputed region, sparking fears of a military conflict.
He also claimed that his counterpart, President Irfaan Ali, “does not govern Guyana” and that “Guyana is governed by the Southern Command, the CIA and ExxonMobil.” Southern Command, part of the Department of Defense, maintains a US Security Cooperation Office in Guyana.
Southern Command, which is part of the Defense Department, keeps a U.S> Security Cooperation Office in Guyana. The mission of the office is to be a military consultant for the Guyana Defense Force, working to coordinate “security cooperation engagement activities” and to provide training and additional military support.
The fighting over Essequibo, which comprises almost two-thirds of the total territory in Guyana and has been administered by Guyana for over a hundred years — start to become more hostile back in 2015 after oil deposits were found by ExxonMobil. Tensions really crashed through the roof after the referendum was passed back in December. Just a few days later, American forces held joint military exercises with the defense force in Guyana.
However, just last year, both countries made a pledge that they would not use force in order to settle the border dispute between them, which is currently before the international Court of Justice in Hague.
Could we actually secret bases in that region of the world? Maybe. Nothing is beyond the realm of possibility, especially with oil on the line. However, I still find it difficult to believe anything that comes from Maduro’s mouth. You can’t trust someone like that who has helped destroy his own country.
One thing is for sure. We definitely do not need another major conflict on the global stage right now. What’s going on between Russia and Ukraine, plus Israel and Hamas still in the middle of a war, we have more than enough on our plate.
If you’re a praying person, now would be an excellent time to sit down and ask the Lord to bring peace to earth before the crap really hits the fan.
