Officials on Thursday revealed that NATO countries have not only accomplished their goal of placing 300,000 troops on “high-readiness” as the alliance continues to wrestle with a threat from Russia, but have “comfortably exceeded” it. This is getting spooky, folks. Could we really be headed for a third global conflict? It certainly seems possible, especially with President Joe Biden at the helm of our great nation.Talk about failed leadership. Biden is the poster boy for it.
According to Barrons:
NATO leaders agreed in the wake of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine in 2022 to massively ramp up the number of forces that alliance commanders can deploy within 30 days.
“The offers on the table from allies comfortably exceed the 300,000 that we set,” the official went on to tell the media on condition of anonymity. “Those are forces which allies have said to us, ‘They are available to you as of now at that level of readiness’.”
The push to have more troops ready to respond quickly is part of a broader overhaul of NATO’s plans to stave off any potential Russian attack that was signed off at a summit last year.
Those plans laid out for the first time since the end of the Cold War what each member of the US-led alliance would be expected to do in case of an invasion by Moscow. NATO commanders are currently trying to make sure they have the capabilities to execute those plans if needed.
However, it’s critical to note that the alliance is falling well short in having key weaponry like air defenses and longer-range missiles prepared and ready to go should tensions go from simply being heated to a full-on explosion into warfare.
“There are capability gaps. There are things that we don’t have enough of as an alliance at the moment and we need to tackle,” the official remarked.
There are a lot of reasons to be concerned about this news. For one, if you’re going to be involved in some kind of major global conflict, you need to have solid leadership guiding military decisions. Joe Biden, a man who can’t keep himself upright on flat ground, who has no idea how or when his oldest son died, is the commander-in-chief of our armed forces. He’s in charge of the military, folks. That is terrifying.
Secondly, we should be working every possible diplomatic angle possible to help bring the conflict raging between Ukraine and Russia to an end. Instead, we’re funding the war effort with billions of taxpayer dollars during a time when inflation has never been higher and the number of individuals and families living paycheck to paycheck has hit astronomical proportions.
To say we can’t afford to fund someone else’s war is an understatement. Yet, it truly seems like Biden and his ilk within the administration are hellbent on ensuring there’s a third world war before the upcoming election. I mean, maybe my tinfoil hat is on too tight, but it really does seem like the White House wants to get into a fight with Russia, doesn’t it?
Let’s hope cooler, smarter, less hawkish heads prevail.
