Every single time I think things cannot get worse for the United States economy, along comes a new piece of news that demonstrates that as bad as things are for us right now, they can, and probably will, get much worse. And you thought we peaked with insane grocery prices, right? I wish.
According to Watcher, a total of 97 countries have confirmed they will be attending the BRICS 2024 Games this June, which is due to be held in Russia and hosted by Russian President Vladimir Putin. The games will be put on in the Kazan region between the dates of June 12 to 24.
“97 countries had already confirmed their participation,” said Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko. The minister added that the BRICS 2024 Games are an integral part of the development of the country. “The BRICS Games 2024, which were ordered to be organized following the decree of the Russian President Vladimir Putin, are an important part of our country’s chairmanship in this organization,” he said.
He added that all eyes will be on the BRICS Games in 2024. “The upcoming tournament must be organized at the highest possible level,” he said. The sporting event will host 20 different sports with 97 countries participating in Russia.
The really, really bad news is that a total of 40 nations aside from the 97 attending and participating in the BRICS games this year, want to join the alliance. In 2024 this year, seven brand new countries have submitted formal applications in order to join the group. One of the main missions of BRICS is a focus on getting away from the dollar and switching over to local forms of currency.
Which seven countries?
Another report from Watcher says:
Last year, France was the only European country that wanted to attend the BRICS summit but was denied entry from Russia and China. Both the countries expressed concerns that France aims to sabotage internal information and disrupt the alliance. However, France has not shown interest in being a part of the BRICS 2024 summit.
The seven countries that want to join the BRICS alliance in 2024 before the 16th summit in October are:
- Cameroon
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
- Syria
- Thailand
- Venezuela
- Zimbabwe
And that, friends, will accelerate the devaluing of the U.S. dollar, which is already worth about as much as Monopoly money, and thus the prices we pay for goods and services is going to go up even higher. When it rains, it pours, right?
The 16th BRICS summit will also be held in Russia’s Kazan region in October this year. The alliance will decide on the prospects of the applications in the upcoming BRICS summit. All decisions will be taken on a consensus basis after weighing the pros and cons of a particular application.
BRICS is the only bloc that is looking to end reliance on the US dollar and push local currencies for cross-border transactions. Read here to know how many sectors in the US will be affected if BRICS ditches the dollar for trade.
We need leadership in Congress and in the White House who understands the dire straits we’re in right now and has a plan for setting us on the right track toward economic recovery and stability.
Here’s a hint: It ain’t Biden.
